日本にほんには、昔むかしから「妖怪ようかい」というふしぎな生いき物ものがいると言いわれています。妖怪ようかいは、おばけやモンスターみたいですが、悪わるいものだけではありません。人ひとを助たすける妖怪ようかいや、いたずらが好すきな妖怪ようかいもいます。昔むかしの人ひとは、説明せつめいできないことが起おきると、「妖怪ようかいのせいかもしれない」と考かんがえていました🫢

有名ゆうめいな妖怪ようかいの一ひとつは「河童かっぱ」です。河童かっぱは川かわや池いけに住すんでいて、頭あたまの上うえにお皿さらがあります。そのお皿さらの水みずがなくなると、力ちからが弱よわくなると言いわれています🥺また、「天狗てんぐ」も有名ゆうめいです。天狗てんぐは山やまに住すみ、長ながい鼻はなを持もっています。昔むかしは、山やまで道みちに迷まよった人ひとは、天狗てんぐのいたずらだと考かんがえられていました。

日本にほんには、「座敷童子ざしきわらし」という妖怪ようかいもいます。子こどもの姿すがたをしていて、その家いえに住すむと幸しあわせになると言いわれています。いい妖怪ようかいなので会あってみたいと思おもう人ひともたくさんいますが、私わたしはやっぱり怖こわくてできれば見みたくないです😂

今いまでも妖怪ようかいは、日本にほんのアニメやゲーム、本ほんなどによく登場とうじょうします。昔むかしの話はなしですが、今いまの文化ぶんかにも大おおきな影響えいきょうを与あたえています。私わたしの生徒せいとさんの中なかにも、妖怪ようかいに興味きょうみがある人ひとが増ふえてきていると思おもいます😎「Yokai.com」というウェブサイトもあるみたいですよ！興味きょうみがあったらぜひ見みてみてください🙌

【English Translation】

In Japan, people have said for a long time that there are mysterious creatures called yokai. Yokai are similar to ghosts or monsters, but they are not all evil. Some yokai help people, while others like to play tricks. Long ago, when something happened that people could not explain, they often thought, “Maybe it’s because of a yokai.”

One famous yokai is the Kappa. Kappa live in rivers and ponds and have a dish-shaped spot on top of their heads. It is said that if the water in that dish disappears, they become weak. Another famous yokai is the Tengu. Tengu live in the mountains and have long noses. In the past, when people got lost in the mountains, they believed it was because of a Tengu’s trick.

There is also a yokai called Zashiki-warashi in Japan. It looks like a child, and it is said that if it lives in your house, it brings good luck. Because it is considered a good yokai, many people would like to meet one. But for me, they’re still a little scary, so I’d rather not see one!

Even today, yokai often appear in Japanese anime, games, and books. Although they come from old stories, they still have a big influence on modern Japanese culture.
