Autumn Equinox Day in Japan

【English Translation】
Today was the Autumn Equinox Day! Since it was a national holiday, I think many people had the day off from work.
Autumn Equinox Day is the first day when autumn begins. From around September 23 every year, the nights gradually get longer, and the weather becomes cooler. Today was also a pleasant day!
On Autumn Equinox Day, there is an event called Ohigan. During Ohigan, people visit graves and give thanks to their ancestors.
Also, during this time, people often eat a sweet food called ohagi. It is made with glutinous rice and sweet red bean paste, and it’s very popular.
When autumn comes and the weather gets cooler, people spend more time outdoors. I’d like to try camping or hiking (though I’ve never done it before!).
Everyone, please enjoy autumn in Japan too!
