とても暑い夏が終わり、最近は少しずつ涼しくなってきました。今は衣替えの季節ですね。
衣替えはふつう、春から夏になるとき（6月ごろ）と、秋から冬になるとき（10月ごろ）に行います。
たとえば、6月になると、学校や会社では夏服になります。白いシャツやうすい生地の服を着る人が多いです。
10月になると、冬服を出して、ジャケットやセーターを着始めます。
家でも衣替えをします。 たとえば、冬のあいだしまっていたTシャツやスカートを出して、かわりにセーターやコートをしまいます。
クローゼットの中をきれいにして、「この服はもう着ないかな？」と考えるいいチャンスです。
衣替えは、ただ服を入れかえるだけでなく、季節の変化を感じる日本の文化です。
衣替えをすると、「ああ、もう夏なんだ」「そろそろ冬だな」と思います。

Do you know what koromogae (衣替え) means?
In Japan, there is a custom of changing clothes when the seasons change. This is called koromogae.
The very hot summer has ended, and recently it’s been getting a little cooler. It’s the season for koromogae now!
Usually, koromogae is done twice a year — when spring changes to summer (around June) and when autumn changes to winter (around October).
For example, in June, schools and companies switch to summer uniforms.
Many people wear white shirts or light materials.
In October, people take out their winter clothes and start wearing jackets and sweaters.
We also do koromogae at home.
For instance, we take out T-shirts and skirts that were stored away during winter, and put away sweaters and coats instead.
It’s also a good chance to clean your closet and think, “Hmm, maybe I won’t wear this anymore.”
Koromogae is not just about changing clothes — it’s also a Japanese cultural tradition that lets you feel the change of seasons.
When we do koromogae, we think, “Ah, it’s already summer,” or “It’s almost winter.”
