それは「彼岸花ひがんばな」です。9月がつごろ、田たんぼの近ちかくや川かわの近ちかくで、彼岸花ひがんばなを見みることができます。赤あかい花はながたくさん咲さくと、とてもきれいです✨

「彼岸ひがん」は、先祖せんぞを思おもう時期じきです。彼岸花ひがんばなは、秋あきのお彼岸ひがんのころに咲さくので、「彼岸花ひがんばな」と言いいます。「曼珠沙華まんじゅしゃげ」という別べつの名前なまえもあります。お彼岸ひがんは、春はると秋あきにあります。秋あきのお彼岸ひがんは、9月がつの終おわりごろです。

Japan’s very hot summer is coming to an end, and autumn is getting closer! There are also beautiful flowers to enjoy in autumn.
One of them is the spider lily, called higanbana in Japanese. Around September, you can see spider lilies near rice fields and rivers. When many red flowers bloom together, they are absolutely beautiful.

“Higan” is a time when people remember their ancestors. Spider lilies bloom around the autumn equinox period, so they are called “higanbana.” They also have another name: manjushage. Japan has higan in both spring and autumn. The autumn higan is around the end of September.

Spider lilies have a somewhat special image in Japan. Since long ago, spider lilies have also been found near graves. Because of this, some people associate them with death or parting.
However, spider lilies also have flower meanings such as “looking forward to the day we meet again” and “thinking of only you.” They can also express feelings of thinking about someone important to you and wanting to see them again.

During spider lily season, many people go to see fields full of spider lilies! Butterflies also gather around the flowers.
