Recently in Japan, we often hear the word “Black Friday”! It originally comes from an American event, and in the U.S., people line up in front of stores and start shopping early in the morning. It must be a very lively day, right?
However, Black Friday in Japan is a little different. In Japan, it’s not as big of an event as in the United States, and the atmosphere is calmer. You don’t really see long lines in front of stores.
In Japan, shopping malls, supermarkets, and drugstores sometimes have sales. Food, daily goods, and clothes become cheaper, so it’s popular with people who want to save money on everyday shopping. Also, just like in other countries, many people enjoy online shopping on Amazon and other sites.
Did you buy anything for Black Friday? I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m thinking about whether I should. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
