冬ふゆになると日本にほんでは雪ゆきや氷こおりに関係かんけいする言葉ことばをよく聞ききますよね！

1. 雪（ゆき） – snow

The most basic winter word in Japanese. It can refer to falling snow or snow on the ground.

2. 霜（しも） – frost

昨日きのう、私わたしの町まちはとても寒さむくて、朝あさから雪ゆきが降ふっていました。車くるまの窓まどには霜しもがついていて、まずそれをきれいにしなければなりませんでした。外そとに出でると、道路どうろが氷こおりで少すこし滑すべりやすくなっていて、とても危あぶななかったです。

昼ひるごろになると、吹雪ふぶきになって、前まえがよく見みえませんでした。公園こうえんの池いけもすっかり凍こおってしまい、まるで大おおきな氷こおりのようでした。ニュースでは「寒波かんぱが来きています」と言いっていて、本当ほんとうに寒さむい一日いちにちでした。

そんな中なか、公園こうえんでは子こどもたちが元気げんきに雪ゆきだるまを作つくっていました。私わたしは家いえに帰かえって、家いえの前まえの除雪じょせつをしました。道路どうろは凍結とうけつしていて、車くるまがゆっくり走はしっていました。

夜よるになると、動物どうぶつの番組ばんぐみを見みました。くまは冬眠とうみんして冬ふゆを過すごすと知しって、「いいなぁ」と思おもいながら、私わたしもあたたかい布団ふとんに入はいりました。

🧊　English Translation of the Story

Yesterday, my town was very cold, and it had been snowing since the morning. There was frost on my car windows, so I had to clean it off first. When I went outside, the roads were icy and slippery, which was dangerous.

Around noon, it turned into a blizzard, and I couldn’t see very well. The pond in the park had completely frozen, looking like a big sheet of ice. On the news they said, “A cold wave is coming,” and it truly was a freezing day.

Even in that weather, children in the park were happily making snowmen. I went home and cleared the snow in front of my house. The roads were frozen, and cars were driving slowly.

At night, I watched an animal program. I learned that bears survive winter by hibernating, and I thought, “That sounds nice,” as I crawled into my warm futon.
