Bonsai : The Beautiful Art of Growing Miniature Trees

【English Translation】
Today I’d like to talk about bonsai, a hobby I’ve recently become interested in! Bonsai is a traditional Japanese art of growing small trees in pots. Even though they are small, they look just like real full-sized trees. They’re so cute!
People take good care of bonsai by watering them every day and trimming their branches. They don’t grow quickly, so you need to take your time. It takes about 3 to 10 years, and larger bonsai can take more than 20 years to grow! That’s why one of the most important things in bonsai is learning how to wait.
In Japan, some people keep bonsai in their homes or gardens. Recently, bonsai has also become very popular overseas! There are many different kinds, such as pine, maple, and plum trees. In spring, new leaves grow, and in autumn, the leaves change color, so you can enjoy bonsai in every season.
Actually, I recently started growing bonsai too! I have one bonsai that I’m growing from a seed and another one that I bought from a shop. Since it’s my first time, I’m doing my best by watering them every day and carefully checking the leaves. It makes me so happy to see them grow little by little.
Someday, I hope to grow them for many years and create my very own beautiful bonsai. There are still many things I don’t know yet, but I’m really looking forward to this journey! If you come to Japan, I hope you’ll see a real bonsai in person. There are also lots of videos about bonsai on YouTube, so be sure to check them out too!
