みなさんは「桃太郎ももたろう」を知しっていますか？桃太郎ももたろうは、日本にほんでとても有名ゆうめいな昔話むかしばなしです。日本人にほんじんなら、子こどものころによく聞きく話はなしです。今日きょうは桃太郎ももたろうの話はなしを読よみましょう！

むかしむかし、おじいさんとおばあさんがいました。おじいさんは山やまへ行いきました。おばあさんは川かわで洗せんたくをしていました。すると、大おおきな桃ももが流ながれてきました。おばあさんはその桃ももを家いえへ持もって帰かえりました。桃ももを切きると、中なかから元気げんきな男おとこの子こが出でてきました。おじいさんとおばあさんは、その子こに「桃太郎ももたろう」という名前なまえをつけました。

桃太郎ももたろうは大おおきくなりました。ある日ひ、鬼おにをやっつけるために、鬼ヶ島おにがしまへ行いくことにしました。おばあさんは桃太郎ももたろうにきびだんごを作つくりました。途中とちゅうで、犬いぬ、猿さる、そしてキジに会あいました。桃太郎ももたろうはきびだんごをあげました。みんなは「いっしょに行いきます！」と言いいました。

桃太郎ももたろうと犬いぬと猿さるとキジは鬼ヶ島おにがしまへ行いきました。みんなで鬼おにと戦たたかいました。鬼おには負まけました。鬼おには「ごめんなさい。」と言いいました。そして、宝物たからものを桃太郎ももたろうたちに返かえしました。

桃太郎ももたろうたちは家いえへ帰かえりました。おじいさんとおばあさんはとてもよろこびました。みんなは幸しあわせに暮くらしました。

【English Translation】

Have you ever heard of Momotaro? Momotaro is one of Japan’s most famous folktales. If you’re Japanese, you’ve probably heard this story many times as a child. Today, let’s read the story of Momotaro!

Long, long ago, there lived an old man and an old woman. The old man went to the mountains, and the old woman was washing clothes by the river. Suddenly, a giant peach came floating down the river. She took the peach home, and when they cut it open, a healthy baby boy appeared from inside! They named him Momotaro, which means “Peach Boy.”

Momotaro grew up to be a strong young man. One day, he decided to go to Onigashima (Demon Island) to defeat the ogres. Before he left, the old woman made him kibi dango (millet dumplings). On his journey, he met a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. He shared his kibi dango with them, and they all said, “We’ll go with you!”

Together, Momotaro and his three animal friends traveled to Onigashima. They fought the ogres and won the battle. The ogres admitted defeat, apologized, and returned the treasure they had stolen.

Momotaro and his friends returned home. The old man and the old woman were overjoyed, and everyone lived happily ever after.
